How I Met Your Mother Season 6 Episode 16

How I Met Your Mother Season 6 Episode 16 can be watched on Monday, 2011 at 8:00pm EST on WCBS (CBS) TV channel.
Title of the brand new episode is: Desperation Day. Synopsis of the episode is: Barney declares February 13th a holiday for desperate women; Marshall receives a Valentine's Day surprise from Lily; Zoey and Ted work on figuring out their relationship.
How I Met Your Mother is an American situation comedy that premiered on CBS on September 19, 2005. The show was created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays.
As a framing device, the main character, Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), with narration by Bob Saget, in the year 2030 recounts to his son and daughter the events that led to him meeting their mother, which explains the title and allows for a narration in the past tense. How I Met Your Mother's other main characters are Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan).
The show was renewed for a sixth season by CBS, set to premiere on September 20, 2010.
Inspired by the idea "let's write about our friends and the stupid stuff we did in New York," How I Met Your Mother  is Bays' and Thomas' idea. The two drew from their friendship in creating the characters, with Ted based loosely on Bays, and Marshall and Lily based loosely on Thomas and his wife. Thomas' wife Rebecca was initially reluctant to have a character based on her, but agreed if they could get Alyson Hannigan to play her. Fortunately, Hannigan was available, and was looking to do more comedy work.
The bar "MacLaren's", in which some of the show is set, is based on a bar in New York City called McGee's. It has a mural that Carter Bays and Craig Thomas both liked and wanted to incorporate into the show. The name for the bar is from Carter Bays' assistant Carl MacLaren; the bartender in the show is also called Carl.
Usually each episode is shot over three days, where most other sitcoms are typically shot in a single day, and features upwards of 50 scenes an episode with quick transitions. The show uses a laugh track and flashbacks are frequently featured in the story. The laugh track is later created by recording an audience being shown the final edited episode. Due to the larger scope of the show, co-creator Thomas claims that shooting in front of a live audience would be impossible, and doing so "would blur the line between 'audience' and 'hostage situation'". Later seasons were filmed in front of an audience on occasion when smaller sets are used.
The theme song is a portion of "Hey Beautiful" by The Solids, of which Bays and Thomas are members. Episodes from the first season generally started with the opening credits. A cold opening has been used since season two. Viewers then occasionally see Ted's children on a couch and hear him talking to them, telling the story of how he met their mother. Alternatively, scenes from previous shows or shots of New York City with Ted narrating over the top are shown. Thomas has explicitly said that Future Ted is an unreliable narrator since he is trying to tell a story that happened over 20 years earlier, and therefore tends to misremember events.A scene directly relating to the identity of the mother, involving Ted's future children, was filmed near the beginning of season two for the show's eventual series finale. This was primarily done because the teenage actors portraying them will be adults by the time the final season is shot.
During the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, How I Met Your Mother shut down production, but once the strike ended the show returned on March 17, 2008, with nine new episodes. A change in timeslot was also announced, to 8:30 ET/7:30 CT, flip-flopping from the summer schedule with The Big Bang Theory. The show was renewed for a fourth season by CBS on May 14, 2008, which premiered on September 22, 2008.
In September 2008, it was announced that Lifetime Television purchased the right to rerun How I Met Your Mother at a rate of about $725,000 per episode. The four-year syndication contract stipulated that the studio must deliver at least 110 half-hour episodes by the year 2010, and allows for up to eight seasons of the show. At the end of the fourth season only 88 episodes had been produced, and a further 22 episodes were required ensuring there would be a fifth season. On May 19, 2009, the fifth-season renewal was announced. On May 20, 2009, CBS announced that How I Met Your Mother would move back to 8 pm, leading into the new comedy, Accidentally on Purpose. On January 12, 2010, first season the show hit the milestone of its 100th episode. It was also announced that the series will return for a sixth season on CBS. In response to being syndicated Co-creator Craig Thomas said "We're thrilled that it will live on in other forms" and that they are proud of the show and it is great to see there is a strong desire for it. However, cast members have suggested that the show will run for no more than 8 seasons.
The show also airs on WGN America.

Katrina Kaif Wants Gulzar Sahab To Write Poems For Her!

She is one of the most beautiful women in Hindi film industry, but surprisingly no one has ever written any romantic poems for Katrina Kaif, who believes love is the most beautiful thing in the world. The actress now wants veteran lyricist Gulzar to pen one for her.
"Nobody has ever written a poem for me. But if actually someone writes a poem for me, I think that will be very romantic," she said at the launch of Pritish Nandy's book of love poems "Tonight, This Savage Rite".
Looking her best in an off white-knee length dress, Katrina, 26, surprised everyone when she said: "I want Gulzar saab to write poems for me."
Gulzar, 74, who has written innumerable songs for Hindi films and has many poetry books to his credit, was present at the event and said: "Inshallah, I would write a poem for Katrina for sure."
The event was about love poems and it was but natural to know Katrina's views on romance and the actress happily obliged everyone by sharing her opinion.
"Even though love is known to entail pain, disappointment, disillusionment, still I don't want to be pessimistic about love. I would rather want to have a positive approach to love. I believe that there can be a happy ending, because love is the most beautiful thing in the world," she said.

Katrina Kaif wants to have kids by 33

Bollywood's most happening lady, Katrina Kaif aka 'Sheila Ki Jawani' hottie flaunts her curves exclusively on the February cover of GQ India magazine. The pretty actress strikes a sexy pose on the front page and we're sure fans are going to go gaga for this one!
Following are the excerpts from Katrina kaif's interview with GQ:
"Lack of sleep is dangerous. When I feel tired, I want to put on hats and scarves and build a wall around myself" says Katrina Kaif who is busy shooting for Yash Raj's MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN these days.
According to her working in films is a wonderful business, but it can be very tricky. "You're being watched and judged by a lot of people. You live through the newspapers." Overt displays of female sexuality, for example, are out. "I'm not comfortable beyond a certain line of sensuality," she says. "I think it can be offensive to certain sectors of your audience. It's important that it comes across as you."
Kaif's reluctance to open up extends to her wildly nomadic childhood. Born in Hong Kong, she left with her British mother Suzanne Turquotte, a veteran NGO activist, when she was two or three, spending time in France and Japan and then Hawaii by the age of 11, before arriving in London at 13. "I have a lot of feelings of being lost and shy and isolated. I felt alien," she says. "It makes you feel unsettled in your mind. You crave somewhere to settle." At 18, she found it after being cast in Kaizad Gustad's BOOM in 2003, the film that launched her career. To sound easier on the Indian ear, she took the name of her Kashmiri-British father, Mohammed Kaif.
When asked about her marriage she said, "Do I see myself married in two years? I don't really know. I think by the time I'm around 33, I should be having kids. But you can't plan it. I do want to get married, but do I want to have a child grow up without a father? No. I think you need more security."

Guess who's spending a lot of time together and bonding over movies and dance. Actor Jackky Bhagnani and the director of his film " F.A.L.T.U", Remo D'souza, have become really close friends.
So much so that even before their film hits the theatres, rumour has it that actor Jackky has been signed up for another film that Remo will be directing.
The choreographer-turned-director is mighty impressed with the actor after seeing the rushes of the movie and has decided to seal the deal with Jackky for his second directorial venture. What impressed Remo the most was the daredevil stunts that Jackky himself did in the movie and of course his dance moves. The actor has been preparing his dance moves for a long time to match up to the choreographer's expectations. Like they say, hard work always pays off. Jackky too is happy with the first-time director and can't wait to start work on their next venture.

Saif Ali Khan admires media savvy Amitabh Bachchan

Saif Ali Khan is very impressed with the media savvy Amitabh Bachchan.
The Junior Nawab of Pataudi, who ideally interacts with the media only when absolutely necessary, admires the way Amitabh keeps himself constantly active on social networking sites and makes it a point to reply to queries as quickly as he can.
So impressed is Saif with Big-B that he will probably take a leaf out of the senior actor's book and try to improve his equation with the fourth estate.

We celebrate Valentine's every week: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar is flight-hopping from Dubai to Patiala gathering critical acclaim for his sensitive performance in Nikhil Advani's Patiala House.
Despite such a hectic itinerary, the actor has made it a point to return home to wife Twinkle Khanna on Valentine's Day.
This handsome couple has spent a decade in marital bliss and Valentine's is yet another occasion for them to seek each other out. Says Akshay, "Days like Valentine's and our wedding anniversary definitely have a special significance. But honestly speaking my wife and I celebrate Val entine's every week."
The Bollywood A-lister explains that it is 10 years since they married, but Twinke and he do not take each other for granted. Says he, "When planning a vacation I bring the plastic globe in our home and rotate it in front of Tina (Twinkle). She has to just put her finger on a place and we fly there for our next holiday with our son Aarav. Twinkle knows her every wish is my command. Whatever she desires, be it diamonds, a car or a villa; she has to ask and it will be hers. But the beauty of the whole thing is, that in the decade gone by, I have realised that what my wife really craves for, is my time. She has made me promise that I will always spend quality time with her and Aarav."
So the Kumars have a set routine. Every weekend is a do-not-disturb affair. "On Saturdays we usually dine with Aarav. However, on Sundays it is just the two of us who go out for a romantic meal and a drive," he smiles.
A little known fact about Akshay is that he has the image of an action hero. He has even done several comedies successfully. But somewhere deep within, the actor is very romantic. Says he, "If you see Patiala House, you will realise that the romantic scenes between Anushka and me are very subtle. These scenes were not even written down. We added them spontaneously. I have a romantic side to me that I don't necessarily flaunt. I feel love whether it is on or off the screen cannot be scripted. It is something you have got to feel from within."
Now you know why Twinkle is one of the envied superstar wives. Her husband's world definitely revolves around her.

Vivek Oberoi's special plan for Valentine's Day

Vivek Oberoi has his entire day only for wife Priyanka. The actor, who married end of last year, is spending his first Valentine's Day as a husband and he wants to make things memorable for his wife.
Not only is the actor gifting something very special to Priyanka, he is also in the mood to take her out for a small vacation.
The actor was very busy at the end of last year with his work commitments as both parts of Rakht Charitra released simultaneously. And so he could not really give as much time to his wife as he would have wanted to.

Lindsay Lohan: I would never steal

Troubled US starlet Lindsay Lohan said Thursday she would never steal, a day after she pleaded not guilty to the theft of a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles jewellery store.
The 24-year-old actress told followers on her Twitter account that she had not been brought up to be dishonest -- and also lamented "absurd" press comment about a tight-fitting dress she wore to court on Wednesday.
"I would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal," said Lohan, who was released on bail after her latest brush with the law, but warned she could face jail if she breaks the law again.
"Also, what I wear to court shouldn't be front page news. It's just absurd. God bless xox L," she said, in reference to the clingy shot white dress she wore to court.
Lohan, who completed a court-ordered spell in rehab for drug addiction last month, allegedly walked out of the jewellery store in Venice Beach -- the seafront area of LA where she lives -- with the gold necklace on January 22.
The actress, who is on probation for a 2007 drunk driving offense, could face up to three years in jail if convicted on the grand theft charge.
She checked out of the Betty Ford clinic near Palm Springs last month, following a spell there after she was briefly jailed in September for failing a court-ordered drug test.
Lohan was sentenced in July to serve 90 days in jail and another 90 days in rehab for violating her probation in a drunk-driving case. But due to jail overcrowding, she served just 13 days before being freed to the detox facility.
A queen of Hollywood nights and a favorite target of the paparazzi, the former Disney child star was once considered one of the most promising actresses of her generation.
But Lohan's career has dipped many times since 2005 amid legal woes, visits to rehab and movie flops.
In 2007, she spent just 84 minutes in jail after police arrested her twice for cocaine possession while driving -- in one instance crashing her Mercedes-Benz into a tree.
In 2008, the "Parent Trap" star received two Razzie Awards, the satirical prizes presented to Hollywood's worst acting performances.

Sanjay Dutt to remake his dad's film

After Satte Pe Satta, Sanjay Dutt is all geared up to make a sequel to Sunil Dutt starrer Mujhe Jeene Do. But the actor is hesitant to star as the lead because he thinks he is too old! Dutt feels that Ranbir Kapoor would be an ideal choice for the role. He told Mumbai Mirror, "I have been telling him that he should do a macho film. Romantic films are okay but a hero should look like a hero on screen. Ranbir and I work out together and he is a very cultured and decent boy."
Though Dutt is already producing the sequel to Satte Pe Satta he revealed, "Thankfully for me, I have good partners in my first film, Rascals Sanjay Ahluwalia and Vinay Choksey. Similarly, I am making Satte Pe Satta with Soham Shah and Ashtavinayak. I am enjoying this process of being a producer and I will be making a lot more films in the near future. When I started my production house I wanted David (Dhawan) to make the first film, as I am very close to him," reports the tabloid.

Sonakshi Sinha to sizzle in item number

Sonakshi Sinha may not have gyrated to Munni Badnaam Hui but buzz is that she will set the screen on fire in an item number in Joker. And guess what, she's not alone, Katrina Sheila Kaif will be sharing the screen with her. Buzz is that Sonakshi wanted the audience to see her 'non-Dabangg' side as well. "She kept telling Farah she wanted her own Munni and Sheila. Not only Sonakshi but even her parents were keen to see her dance on screen," a close source told Mumbai Mirror.

However, she did not confirm that Katrina will join her in the song. "Well, a top actress will be joining me. That's all I can say at the moment."

Ra.One DVDs to have alternate endings

So its not just 3D! Superhero flick Ra.One starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal will feature alternate endings in DVD version.
SRK wanted to release the theatre version with alternate endings but he avoided the risk, as this concept is not so popular right now.
"Shah Rukh initially toyed with the idea of releasing theatrical versions of the film with alternate endings. But he soon decided it wasn't worth the risk and settled on the DVD option," a source told Mid Day.
Shah Rukh was apparently confused with the climax of the film and hence, the idea of alternate endings popped up. "SRK has kept the making of Ra.One extremely interactive. He's taken opinions from experts as well as the layman and even his kids Aaryan and Suhana. The attempt is to make sure the film is well received across the board. However, when it came to the climax he was unsure how to end the story. Hence, the option of multiple endings in the DVD," the source added.

Arjun Rampal agrees to do a cameo for David Dhawan

He doesn`t want to do cameos right now, but Arjun Rampal has agreed to play a small part in David Dhawan`s Rascals and none other than Sanjay Dutt, producer of the movie, convinced him to accept the offer.
"Yes, I finally agreed to do Rascals. I always wanted to work with David Dhawan. And it is Sanjay Dutt`s first production. So all the more special. I`ve about 20 days` work. However, cameos as a rule are not what I`m looking for in my career right now," said Arjun before leaving for Bangkok to shoot for his part in the movie.
Initially Arjun said no to the role and informed Dhawan of his inability to accept the offer of the film that also has Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn.
Says a source, "Although Arjun was tempted to work with David Dhawan for the first time the last thing he wanted do was to get into the cameo space again. Repeatedly, filmmakers have put Arjun in the cameo space with the promise of bigger roles later. Karan Johar and Farhan Akhtar had given Arjun walk-on parts in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. These led to sizeable parts in We Are Family and Rock On. But now Arjun is done with cameos."
The 38-year-old Arjun is also looking forward to seeing how audiences react to his part of the main antagonist in Ra.One.
"I`ve played the bad guy successfully in Om Shanti Om. Even Raajneeti had shades of grey. So there`s no apprehension about acceptability as a villain. At the end of the day, a good role is a good role, black or white or grey. I`m happy with the way my career has shaped up," he said.

Anushka Sharma: I know nothing about cricket

"I know nothing about cricket,” laughs Anushka Sharma, who plays the lead in Patiala House that releases today, and revolves hugely around India’s favourite sport. The only time that she followed the game was during one of the World Cups when she was in class 10.
“I still don’t know
why I was watching it. But there was something that had me hooked on to it. I watched every match and read up all the details. And after that World Cup, I didn’t ever switch on the TV to watch a cricket match. But I wouldn’t run in the opposite direction if my father or brother were watching it.” The actor, however, is not averse to the idea of watching the upcoming World Cup matches in stadiums across India. But they are not on her priority list.
“Any sport becomes fascinating when you watch it live, in a packed stadium with hundreds and thousands of spectators cheering for different teams and players. I don’t mind watching any game for that matter, even if I know very little about it,” says Sharma, adding that she may watch a match or two at home, if she has the time.
Back home, her brother and father, she says, are big cricket fanatics. “They won’t move from their seats, sometimes keeping their postures constant because they think if they change it, a key player will get out. My brother and his friends don’t entertain anyone in the room if team India goes through a grim situation during the match,” says Sharma, with a chuckle.
She admits that while shooting for Patiala House, she faced a problem recognising most of the cricketers on the sets. “Herschelle Gibbs and Andrew Symonds were in the news then. So, I recalled their faces clearly. But I couldn’t identify the others,” reminisces Sharma.
“But I didn’t let anyone know that I was poor with cricket. If Akshay (co-star Kumar) introduced me to one of them, I would smile and nod as if I had their match statistics running at the back of my mind. The minute Akshay turned around, I would ask Nikhil (director Advani) to tell me who had I spoken to or shaken hands with just then.”

Aditi Rao to romance Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar

Here's the best kept secret in La-La Land. Aditi Rao, the scene-stealing actress from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6, is the parallel female lead opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar.
Initially Aditi was summoned to play the leading lady opposite Ranbir, but the part finally went to half Czech and half Pakistani Nargis Fakhri.
"I was called to meet Imtiaz sir for the other part (Nargis Fakhri). But he had already set his mind on Nargis, signed her and started training with her. She was training for many months," said Aditi, who also features in Sudhir Mishra`s Yeh Saali Zindagi.
Luckily Aditi and Nargis have no scenes together in Rockstar.
"I`m happy with the part I finally got in Rockstar. I am the narrator who connects Ranbir's character to the audience. It's a part like Rani Mukerji's in Veer-Zaara. I play a young journalist. The chemistry between me and Ranbir is… well, you will have to see it yourself," she said.
Apparently Aditi has powerful scenes, but the film's publicity will be designed to spotlight the Ranbir-Fakhri pairing. Hence, the orchestrated stories of a real-life relationship between the hot new pair.
"Trust me, these rumours of Nargis and Ranbir will die down the day Rockstar releases. Poor Aditi. She has a very important role in Rockstar. But she is married and just not fodder for gossip," said a female co-star of Ranbir.
