In Bolton Police battle occered to control EDL and UAF protest:



Police are trying to contain thousands of demonstrators from the English Defense League and Unite Against Fascism at a protest in Bolton.

More than 1,500 UAF and also 2,000 EDL supporters are in Victoria Square and a large number of people have been injured.

Police said at least 50 people have been arrested, including the UAF protest organiser on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder.

A 16 years old girl, who had nothing to do with the protests,is being treated after she suffered a panic attack.

Two members of the UAF have also been taken to hospital with a minor head and a minor ear injury and smoke bombs have been set off.

Pope Benedict has apologized for Irish priests' sex abuse:



Pope Benedict has apologized to victims of child sex abuse by Catholic priests in Ireland.

In a pastoral letter to Irish Catholics he acknowledged that the sense of betrayal in the Church felt by victims.

The Pope said there had been serious mistakes among bishops in responding to allegations of pedophilia.

The Pope also criticized inadequate procedures in selecting candidates for the priesthood and insufficient human, moral, intellectual and spiritual formation in seminaries and novitiates.

Tanushree celebrating Durga Puja away from home:


It is that time of the year when the hearts of all Bengali's yearn for Durga Puja festivities back home. But the Bengalis in Bollywood really know how to celebrate it in grand fashion and one such Bengali is Tanushree Dutta.

She says,I always make sure that I am around with my family to celebrate the Durga Puja.We usually decorate the house with diyas, flowers,incense, etc. and loads of Bengali sweets are also made which I love to savour.We also have lots of relatives visiting us from Kolkata and my hometown Jamshedpur.I have a strong belief in god and I know she protects me from all harm and will help sail me through all rough waters. Wishing everyone Happy Festivities.


Tanushree feels frightened:

In the news recently for her pow-wow with Nana Patekar is afraid to admit that she is...afraid! "I'm afraid that I'm afraid," she says with a nervous laugh.That's why I've been talking against Nana Patekar and Rakhi Sawant long after she took over the item song from me with him. I feel upset and frightened….The MNS workers were put on the job to harass me after I dared to take on Nana for his behaviour.

I tell her it's in bad taste to carry on her tirade against a senior artiste, no matter what the provocation. Tanushree agrees. "Maybe I should've stopped talking about it. But I did so only out of fear. I'm a girl from Bihar. I'm seen as an outsider in Mumbai, and I was reminded about it by a very senior member of the film industry recently. When I told him I felt threatened he turned around to ask, 'Who do you think you are, Amitabh Bachchan?' But this is not about being big or small. It's about my basic right to work with dignity in the industry. Why are people from within the industry trying to rob me of that right? When I recent attended a CINTA meeting, I felt they were talking Greek.

It is then that Tanushree decided to get herself All time protection.It's sad that I feel the need to be guarded against my own colleagues in the film industry. But I no longer feel safe here even within the studio. I had done item songs before. But never had I been treated the way I was during the one for Horn OK Please.
