Shah Rukh Khan Produces Documentary On ‘Mughal e Azam’

The ‘Shahenshah’ of B’Town is obsessed with the royal love story of Salim and Anarkali, so much so that he even owns the original camera on which ‘Mughal e Azam’ was shot. Now, SRK has shown his admiration by making a 40 minute documentary on the classic, in which he also plays the narrator.
Shah Rukh apparently has very close ties with director K. Asif’s family. According to a highly placed source, “SRK is a huge fan of the film. He is extremely close to K. Asif’s son Akbar Asif, who resides in London. Every time they meet, they have long discussions over the film.”
When Akbar revealed his wish to make a documentary to honour his father, Khan immediately offered to not just produce it, but also play ‘sutradhar’. The documentary which has been put together by Deven Munjal is now ready for release and SRK is expected to unveil it in his inimitable grand style very soon.
B’Town’s ‘Baadshah’ deeply reveres the real life ‘Salim’ as well, and this documentary is his way of paying tribute to Dilip Kumar. “SRK has always maintained that he is a huge fan of the legendary actor Dilip Kumar and this will be his way of doing something in honour of the film,” adds the source.
