John Abraham is the macho guy of Bollywood. With a sturdy and well worked out body, he can surely be the best pick for a super hero film.
But even he is not infallible. A couple of days ago, the actor had a bad fall while shooting for a stunt scene for Vipul Shah’s production, Force.
The stunt required him to jump from one moving goods train to another. Instead of landing on his feet he lost his balance and fell on his back over a heap of stones.
The actor was severely injured and suffered as many as 40 injury marks on his back. Despite being given an immediate medical attention, John was visibly in discomfort. But the actor braved and finished the shot he was required to.
In December last year too, again while he was shooting for Force, John had a ligament tear and was in excruciating pain.
A source who was present on the sets while John met with the accident, says, “John seems to be getting injured time and again.
Earlier he was injured at Filmcity and now at the Jogeshwari yard. He had a bad fall and his entire back was injured badly and there were injury marks.”
Producer Vipul Shah said, “We were shooting a scene with two moving goods trains. John had to jump from one to another.
Although all the precautions were taken, this is something that can never be controlled. He was supposed to land on his feet but he fell on his back, the compartment of the goods train was full of stones which hurt him badly.
The impact with which he fell down was huge and that’s why he got hurt badly. Both, my director Nishikant Kamath and I were extremely scared. We were scared that he might have severely injured his spinal chord.
When we saw his back, he had as many as 40 injury marks and scratches all over. We somehow finished the shot as it was the last day of this schedule. He is now taking rest.”
Now that the schedule is over and John can rest and get back in shape. We wish you a speedy recovery, John.

I’m not dating Priya Chatwal, says Sunjay Kapur
Friday is a night of twin celebration for Karisma Kapur - it’s her son Kian’s first birthday and daughter Samaira’s sixth.
But all eyes will be upon estranged husband Sunjay Kapur who said to be making an appearance at this just-close-friends-and-family bash.
Before rumours start brewing about a possible reconciliation between the Delhi industrialist and the Raja Hindustani girl, hear us out. Apparently, his appearance is a last attempt to put up a united front and show they are still a family.
According to friends close to the Kapoors, the marriage has moved beyond choppy Karisma has closed all doors on her husband and there is no chance of reconciliation. “Not only Karisma but even her parents, Randhir and Babita, have broken all ties with Sunjay. And the reason is Priya Chatwal,” says a source.
When Karisma was pregnant with Kian, there were whispers of closeness between Sunjay and hotelier Vikram Chatwal’s estranged wife, Priya. And Delhi birdies say the whispers have become a reality.
“They are seen together almost every night and have been together for almost a year,” says a source. Priya has one daughter with Vikram and while still legally married, they are said to have been estranged a year into their marriage.
It’s a case of history repeating itself. Sunjay was embroiled in similar rumours when Karisma was pregnant with Samaira, and their relationship was said to have hit the rocks.
This time, Karisma is not even bothering with confrontation, neither are Randhir and Babita intervening to patch things up. “It’s all over.” says the source.
“The last few months have been very tough for Karisma. But somehow Kareena has kept her sister’s spirits up. She has been spending a lot of time with her.”
But Sunjay’s friends rush in his defence. “Sunjay would love to have Karisma with him all the time,” says one close friend.
“She is a lovely person but not ready to live in Delhi. Granted it’s not easy to adjust to Delhi when you have been leading a very cosmopolitan life in Mumbai, but spare a thought for this man who is young, attractive and yet comes back to an empty home after a long day’s work. How can anybody say that he is dating Priya Chatwal?”
Meanwhile, Kareena and her parents are pushing Karisma to get back into films. “Karisma will get a fresh start, but after Kian grows up a bit.
Abhi bahut chhota hai woh,” says a friend. What’s stopping Sunjay and Priya from going public? “They can’t do that,” says a source, “until they are officially divorced from their respective spouses. But if you are in Delhi, almost every second person will tell you about them. It’s an open secret.”
Sunjay confirmed that he is coming to Mumbai for Samaira and Kian’s birthday party, but denied his marriage was under duress. “Who said it is? And why would you ask me a question like that,” he thundered. “I am not dating Priya.
The social circle can talk but that’s irrelevant. Samaira and Kian are my children. Don’t get them into this.”
Sunjay and Karisma married in September 2003. Sunjay was previously married to designer Nandita Mahtani, who is now dating model-turned-actor Dino Morea. Priya Chatwal remained unavailable for comment.

Salman Khan gives second chance to Zarine Khan
Zarine Khan, the Katrina look-alike who went unnoticed after her debut flop ‘Veer’ will make her comeback with an item number in Salman’s Ready.

Boom kiss no big deal: Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif is awfully busy these days. Amidst a flurry of activity that includes the pre-production work for her home production to launch sister Isabelle, and shooting for films, Kat is caught up rehearsing for her performance tomorrow at the Indian Music Award.
“Yesterday we were told that our performances were called off, and in the morning it’s informed that the show is on tomorrow. I am out of my wits, juggling hundred things together,” says Kat, this year’s hottest item girl, who is set to perform an act inspired by Moulin Rogue tomorrow at the IMA night.
Given the tight situation, there couldn’t have been any room for any other discussion today. But Kat surprised us with her forthright clarifications regarding the return of the lip-locking scene with Gulshan Grover for Kaizaad Gustaad’s Boom, which is now packed in a new DVD to be launched by the makers of the film soon.
Mind you, Katrina doesn’t feel haunted by any kind of her past ghost. “What’s there to react in the first place? And what’s new about those scenes?” asks an unfazed Katrina. “I don’t deny I have done the scenes in the past where I did things that I wasn’t comfortable. And in any case, ‘Boom’ and the kissing scenes are all over the internet”, states the hottest downloaded Bollywood babe on the net.
The film had some hot lip locking scenes between Gulshan Grover and Katrina, who was a newbie that time. Apparently the hot scenes were removed from the film, when her than beau Salman Khan put pressure on the makers of the film. Does she attribute this sudden but unpleasant development to any specific reason at this point in her career and life? Is someone trying to make some quick buck out of her success or is there a purposeful strategy to malign her?
“Honestly I wouldn’t know. I have never interpreted people’s intentions. As it is the makers have issued a statement today to the media. And they have denied doing anything like this,” clarifies Katrina.
Whatever is the outcome, the fact is success cannot be measured or maligned. And Katrina is a wonderful example of phenomenal success.

Vinod makes his mark with Tanu weds Manu
He shares Amitabh Bachchan’s surname, and looks like he’s living up to it.
Small town filmmaker Vinod Bachchan’s second production, a romantic comedy Tanu weds Manu released recently starring National Award winning actress Kangna Ranaut and R Madhvan.
The film being set in a small town, which portrays the inherent innocence of Indian systems, is what caught Vinod’s interest. He could draw inferences from his own life, and this helped greatly in shaping up the comic and jovial scenes during discussions with the director Anand Rai on the script.
They say one success leads to another and Vinod has already moved on to his next two ventures. He has begun work on Zilla Gaziabad, to be directed by Anand Kumar. Based on a real life story, it will show the underworld nexus in small towns and cities and will have a ensemble star cast. Vinod likes working on
different genres and his next ambitious film is a drama titled Maximum that is being directed by Kabeer Kaushik. It narrates a gripping story on Mumbai cops.

Model Esther Jamir enters Bollywood
Delhi based model Esther Jamir is soon making her entry in the world of Bollywood.
Well, and this time you will not see her walking the ramp, instead she would be strumming the strings onstage and playing the role of a rock artist in the promotional song of the movie “ Dear Friend Hitler”.
When we asked her how excited she was to accept the role, she said, “I’m extremely excited. This would be my first break in films. Interestingly, I’m doing a bollywood flick where I have no dialogues. Now that sounds weird, but I’m still happy about it.”
Talking more about her role in the song, she told us, “I will be playing the lead role of a singer in the music video. The song will be shot today, in Delhi. Earlier, we had plans to shoot the movie at the India gate and DU campus, but later the director zeroed in on the film city in Noida. The shot will include more than 1000 people from North East. The scene shows artists performing onstage wearing torn jeans, bandanas and holding guitars in their hands. The message through the song would be to bring people of all the communities together.”
So, would she choose to take up Bollywood as a full time career, and pat came the reply, “Why not? It’s just the beginning and I have never said no to anything. I think it would be a great exposure for me. But that doesn’t mean that I would give up modelling. They would go hand in hand.” We hope you are able to balance both, Esther.

I’m not a B or C grade actress, says Preity Zinta
Preity Zinta, 36, talks about her television debut and having survived a difficult personal phase
What convinced you to accept the offer to host Guinness World Record Ab India Todega?
(laughs) It is a record breaking show. I have been getting TV offers for the past five-six years. I didn’t have time. Nothing grabbed my attention then.
Talk shows are too personal because so much about your own life emerges through them. I am an adventurous person and when I heard about this show, I had to give it a shot.
All your friends from the industry (Shah Rukh, Salman, Abhishek, Amitabh) have hosted TV shows. Did you ask them for tips?
They told me to relax and be myself. Whoever met me said do what you want.
When will you return to the big screen?
You will see me in movies this year.
Why have you turned down scripts in the past few years?
I was busy over the past six months with the court cases and the fights with BCCI. Before the IPL, I can shoot for the show. IPL follows, and then I will take a month off before shooting for my film.
You made a successful transition from acting to entrepreneurship.
Earlier, I never had the courage to try something completely different. Once I was at the top of my game and opportunity came, I said, ‘I want to try this.’ I could have done it a bit differently by doing one film a year at least. But I got so consumed by various things that I did not have time for anything else.
Are you in touch with people from the industry?
Of course. I always meet filmmakers who call me for script narrations and politely say, ‘Not right now, later’. I listen to every script and that’s why they have always been nice to me. You can never forget where you have come from and the people who have helped you get there.
Have you refused any exciting projects?
I have said no to most of the major releases that have done extremely well. It is not in my personality to say I was offered this and that.
Any regrets?
None. In the past 10 years, I have done big films, given big hits. I was never a B grade or C grade actress. I started with Dil Se. I am the only actress in my generation to have worked with Yash Chopra. I have been very lucky. I have never seen crazy failures in films. I did see a difficult side of life personally and it has made me tougher, stronger and smarter. I hope.
When your IPL team Kings XI Punjab came under the scanner, how did you deal with the allegations?
There were allegations against all the teams. We emerged clean, and had the court to back us. After all these investigations and after people pointing fingers at us, we went to court and won fair and square. I would have died of a heart attack if I had been accused of something that I have never done in my life.
Did you discuss issues with your business partner Ness Wadia?
I was in discussion with all my partners and there is no one in particular that I turned to.
What’s your involvement with the Kamal Amrohi property case?
I am not anybody’s legal heir, nor am I inheriting anything from anybody. I have a lot of respect for him and he is a gentleman. He was in a lot of trouble and I helped him. He asked me to help him. But people blew up the story. The only inheritance I will ever get is from my father.
But he publicly said he wants to give you his property.
Well, yeah! But I haven’t taken anything from him.
Are you in touch with Ness?
Why is he so important to everybody? It was over between us two years ago and you should let it be.
Is there a new man in your life?
No, not right now.
